The 45th edition of the event takes place from 10 to 22 May, in 11 rooms in the cities of Matosinhos, Porto, Vila Nova de Gaia and Viana do Castelo

16 shows, of which four are international (Spain, Chile, Argentina and Brazil), masterclasses, artist residencies, workshops and concerts make up the program of the 45th edition of FITEI.

In Matosinhos, next Friday, at 7:00 pm, the show “The heroes don't land on the islands of tales”, by Argentine playwright Pilar Ruiz, takes the stage at the Municipal Theater of Matosinhos Constantino Nery. With artistic direction by Rui Spranger, the play tells the love story between Júlio and Cecília (played by Fernando André and Mariana Silva Costa), in the context of the Falklands War, an armed conflict between Argentina and the United Kingdom for which the young man Literature teacher and musician was recruited.

The show has a new session on Saturday, May 14, at 9:30 pm.

On May 18, also at the Municipal Theater of Matosinhos Constantino Nery, at 9:30 pm, the play “Orgia” will be on stage. Authored by Italian playwright Pier Paolo Pasolini, it is presented as “a contemporary tragedy about diversity and about the dark and violent impulses that move the human being”.

Directed by Nuno M Cardoso, the show features interpretations by Albano Jerónimo, Beatriz Batarda and Marina Leonardo.
