Young people with special needs participate in Porto&Matosinhos Wave Series 2022 initiative
Around 30 children and young people with intellectual or motor disabilities, users of various institutions in Matosinhos and Porto, participated last Friday in a surf baptism event. The aim was to demonstrate the therapeutic role of surfing, with results in motor development and boosting general well-being.
"Surf Adapted" is one of the solidarity initiatives included in the Porto&Matosinhos Wave Series 2022 programme, an event organised by Onda Pura Surf Centre, with the collaboration of the town halls of Porto and Matosinhos, as well as Matosinhos Sport and the Parish Council of Matosinhos and Leça da Palmeira.
The prize-giving ceremony was attended by the Sports Councillors of Matosinhos, Vasco Pinho, and of Porto, Catarina Araújo.
