Brazilian entrepreneurs in Matosinhos

A work session made known the opportunities and advantages of investing in the county


The Public Session Room of the Municipality of Matosinhos received yesterday, February 9th, a delegation of about 40 Brazilian businessmen from FENACON - National Federation of the Accounting Services Companies and the Advisory, Expertise, Information and Research Companies of Brazil.

The visit of the Brazilian delegation to the City Hall and the interest expressed in the business opportunities that Matosinhos offers arises under the cooperation relations established between ISCAP (Superior Institute of Accounting and Public Administration) and the Matosinhos City Hall as well as the internationalization activities promoted by this educational entity of reference in the municipality.

The working group was received by the president of the Municipal Assembly of Matosinhos, Palmira Macedo, the councilman of Education, António Correia Pinto, and the councilwoman for Economic Development, Trade and Tourism, Marta Pontes. Also present was the president of the Higher Institute of Accounting and Administration of Porto (ISCAP), Manuel Moreira da Silva.

Palmira Macedo welcomed the delegation composed by Council presidents from several Brazilian states, CEOs and representatives of several reference companies from Brazil.

In turn, the town councilor for Economic Development, Trade and Tourism contextualized the profile of Brazilian investors in Matosinhos that "has changed a lot in the last six years" and presented the favorable conditions that the municipality has for the installation of companies, namely its strategic location between Brazil and Europe, highlighting the proximity to the airport and the port of Leixões, and the road and rail access. The councilwoman also referred to the positioning of Matosinhos in relation to other Portuguese cities, with regard to turnover, exports, human resources, innovation, decarbonization of the economy and sustainability, the 16 kms of coastline structured and with walkways, the attractiveness in attracting talent favored by the connection of Matosinhos to the sea and water sports, of which surfing is one of the best examples, the quality of life for those who live and/or work in the territory.

The president of FENACON, Daniel Coelho, was also at the work table and thanked the welcoming, as well as the presentation on the positioning of the municipality at various levels developed by the councilwoman.

Daniel Coelho referred to FENACON pointing out that the association represents more than 400 thousand companies in the services sector, mostly in the accounting area, but also companies in other areas, with representation in 9 states. To learn more about the training and business opportunities in the region was the main motivation for this visit to Portugal.

The delegation went on to visit ISCAP and Lionesa Business Hub, to learn more about this business hub and some of the companies in its business area.
