"Carnaval 2023". GNR begins surveillance operation this Friday

The GNR will intensify from this Friday on patrol and inspection on the roads and carry out an intensive operation related to the use and sale of pyrotechnic articles, as part of the operation "Carnival 2023"



In a statement, the GNR reports that from this Friday until Wednesday will also make an intensive operation of awareness, patrolling and surveillance in places of festivities and commercial establishments where they proceed to sell pyrotechnic articles.

The GNR will also carry out enforcement actions on the access roads to the main areas where festivities associated with Carnival occur.

The operation aims to prevent "the sale and use of pyrotechnic material, fight crime, contribute to reducing road accidents, ensure traffic flow and support all citizens.

During the operation, the GNR will also focus its prevention and patrol actions on drug trafficking, possession of pyrotechnic material, public order disturbances and vandalism.

According to the GNR, road inspection actions will focus, as a priority, on driving under the influence of alcohol and psychotropic substances, dangerous maneuvers, especially with regard to overtaking, change of direction and yielding passage.

Speeding, driving without a legal license, overloading, improper use of a cell phone while driving and the non-use or incorrect use of seat belts and/or child restraint systems will also be a priority during the operation.
