Minister of Health also inaugurated a new unit in S. Mamede de Infesta
"This is a project that shows the PRR (Recovery and Resilience Plan) in motion," says the Minister of Health, regarding the future Family Health Unit (USF) Progresso, which will serve the population of Perafita and Santa Cruz do Bispo.
Manuel Pizarro marked this Friday, February 17, the beginning of the construction work, with an execution deadline of one year, on a piece of land donated by the Matosinhos City Hall.
The new unit will respond to 15 thousand users, through a multidisciplinary team composed of eight doctors, eight nurses and seven clinical secretaries, among other services and specialties.
The investment, over 1.7 million euros, is financed by European funds, specifically the RRP.
The visit was attended by the president of the Regional Health Administration of the North, Carlos Nunes, the president of the Local Health Unit of Matosinhos, Taveira Gomes, the mayor, Luísa Salgueiro, the president of the Municipal Assembly, Palmira Macedo, the vice-president of the municipality, Carlos Mouta, the councilmen Manuela Álvares, Marta Pontes and Vasco Pinho, the administrator of Matosinhos Sport, Henrique Calisto, and the president of the union of parishes of Perafita, Lavra and Santa Cruz do Bispo, Lurdes Queirós, among other personalities.
This was followed by a trip to S. Mamede de Infesta to inaugurate the USF Godinho Faria. Leonardo Fernandes, president of the S. Mamede de Infesta and Senhora da Hora parishes union, was present.
In operation since February 1, the new unit was a pioneer at the national level, transitioning directly from a Personalized Health Care Unit (UCSP) to a USF model B, an innovative path at the level of primary health care.
"The remuneration of health professionals is now linked to performance. This model will accelerate the reform of primary care.
The Godinho Faria FHU guarantees care to around 17 thousand users in the parishes of S. Mamede de Infesta and Leça do Balio, through eight family health teams, each made up of a doctor, a nurse, and a clinical secretary.
Luísa Salgueiro announced that a solution is being prepared for a new health center in the center of Matosinhos, since the current facilities are not sufficient for the population's needs.
The Matosinhos Local Health Unit currently has 12 Family Health Units.
