The project, whose base price is 4.5 million euros, will be largely financed by Portugal 2030. APDL also obtained approval for two other projects for the Port of Leixões.
The project to correct the structural problems of the Leixões movable bridge will be financed with four million euros, thanks to Portugal 2030.
The base price for the project was set at 4.5 million euros, but a new tender was launched last September due to the sole bidder exceeding this amount. The Douro, Leixões and Viana do Castelo Port Authority (APDL) is now responsible for obtaining an additional half a million euros for the bridge's renovation.
The bridge will undergo interventions with the replacement of the hinges, correction of deficiencies in the structure (both parts of the deck do not pull with the same intensity), renewal of the anti-corrosive protection, painting of the structure, repaving of the roadway and replacement of the pedestrian coverings.
The work will require the closure of the crossing for a maximum of 90 days, and has an execution period of 425 days.
APDL also managed to have the applications for two other projects approved, which are included in the financing of Sustentável 2030 - Climate Action and Sustainability Program: the construction of infrastructure for the provision of port services in the Port of Leixões (6.3 million euros) and the rehabilitation of port roads and improvement of operating conditions in the Port of Leixões (4.6 million euros).
