Exhibition of Ana Luísa Amaral's work

The Matosinhos Municipal Libraries organized today, a municipal mourning day, a showcase of Ana Luísa Amaral's work as a tribute to the memory of the author who died on the 5th

This exhibition can be visited at the Florbela Espanca Municipal Library and at the São Mamede Infesta Library.

Ana Luísa Amaral was born in Lisbon in 1956. At the age of nine, she left Sintra and came to live in Leça da Palmeira, a town she adopted as her own and which she always defended with all her heart.

The author had an umbilical connection to the municipality of Matosinhos, as she recalled in 2015, when, on the occasion of the 41st anniversary of the 25th of April, she was distinguished by the Matosinhos City Council with the Golden Medal of Merit, and as she also made a point of emphasizing in the last edition of the Poetry Festival, in December 2021, where she was honored in a moment of great emotion that was attended by her and by many friends, readers and admirers of her work.

In 2018, together with Richard Zimler, Ana Luísa Amaral sponsored the Matosinhos Municipal Reading Plan.
