The Festas de Sant’Ana and Festarte – International Festival of Popular Arts and Traditions of Matosinhos are back, after two years of a pandemic.
Until August 7, the Fernando Pinto de Oliveira Public Park will host traditional music, fado, folklore festival, dance, crafts and ethnography.
The program includes music and dance shows, highlighting the performances of Bárbara Bandeira, Not All Tails, Projeto 65 and os Jurássicos.
On Friday, the 23rd edition of Festarte begins, an event organized by the union of the parishes of Matosinhos and Leça da Palmeira, with the support of the Municipality of Matosinhos and the collaboration of Rancho Típico da Amorosa.
Festarte assumes itself as a meeting point and cultural exchange between ethnographic, gastronomic and cultural traditions from the four corners of the world.
This year, participating foreign groups come from Egypt, Spain, Italy, Georgia, Guinea-Bissau, Mexico and Poland.
On Monday, August 1st, the groups will be received at the Edifício dos Paços do Concelho. On the same day and place, the III International Costume Show will be inaugurated, which will be open until August 7th.
