GNR will move temporarily to the current PSP station

The GNR detachment of Matosinhos, which has degraded facilities and needs an investment, will move temporarily to the current post of the PSP, which will move to a new space. The revelation was made this Wednesday, October 12, by the Minister of Internal Administration, José Luís Carneiro, after a ceremony in Porto

Asked about a date for the completion of work on the GNR detachment in Matosinhos, the minister admitted that it fits into the government's "priorities" and fits into the overall value of "600 million euros" for the modernisation of "infrastructure and equipment of the security forces" throughout the country.

Specifically, about the case of Matosinhos, he said that there has been "a dialogue with the Mayor and the Secretary of State of Internal Administration".

The solution, although provisional, has already been found. "As soon as the PSP facilities are ready, we will be able to temporarily relocate the GNR to these facilities, where the PSP is today, and make the investments planned in conjunction with the Matosinhos Câmara", he revealed.

"Already in the final phase of completion, we hope to inaugurate soon the new Police Division of Matosinhos, one of several investments made in construction and conversion of buildings for the Metropolitan Command of Porto", he reinforced.
