Almost 1600 applications for students until June
Nearly 1600 requests for the free Maré Free Pass were registered until June.
Implemented three years ago by the Municipality in partnership with Maré, this measure is aimed at students aged 13 and over, attending compulsory education in public and private schools in the municipality.
It is intended, simultaneously, to contribute to the decrease in the use of individual transport for commuting between home and school, to induce new habits of using public transport to meet different mobility needs and to reduce the cost of public transport for families.
With this measure, it is also intended to reduce traffic constraints and contribute to the decarbonization of the economy in the area of transport, and is also a measure to combat climate change.
Last year, the Free Tide Pass was extended to citizens with a chronic degenerative disease or permanent disability, with 60% or more. If you are a minor, your guardian may also request this support.
By the end of July, 259 transportation tickets had been delivered to these citizens.
