Matosinhos at RICD

Municipality will host the Intermunicipal Assembly of this organisation in 2023

The Municipality of Matosinhos participated, on 25 November, in the Ordinary Intermunicipal Assembly of the ICNDN - Intermunicipal Network for Cooperation for Development.

Created in 2013, the ICND is made up of 22 Portuguese municipalities committed to carrying out more structured and effective work in the fight against poverty as part of their Development Cooperation actions with counterparts in Portuguese-speaking countries.

In addition to Matosinhos, the municipalities of Amadora, Cascais, Estarreja, Faro, Fundão, Grândola, Lagoa, Loures, Maia, Marinha Grande, Miranda do Corvo, Moita, Odivelas, Oeiras, Ourém, Palmela, Penacova, Seixal, Setúbal, Torres Vedras and Vila Nova de Poiares are part of this network.

The Matosinhos Municipality assumed the vice-presidency of the Executive Board of the IDNDR and was represented by the Councillor for the Environment and Energy Transition, Manuela Álvares.

In 2023, it will continue the implementation, started this year, of several actions under the "People & Planet: A Common Destiny Project", which includes street actions, sustainable events, sustainability labs and youth activism.

The next Ordinary Intermunicipal Assembly of the ICNDR should be held in 2023 in Matosinhos, the year in which the institution celebrates its 10th anniversary.
