Luísa Salgueiro shares concern with the Port about possible transfer of the road by the State
Certain that the municipalities "cannot support works that have been pending for many years", the Mayor of Matosinhos, Luísa Salgueiro, warns that it is necessary to evaluate if the transfer of the Circunvalação Road "is in the package foreseen for decentralization". And if this municipalization is associated with "the respective financial envelope". This is because, insists the local authority, the councils "cannot support works that have been pending for many years and have never been carried out".
Sharing the concerns of the Porto City Hall, expressed a week ago by the Councilman of Urbanism, Pedro Baganha, the Mayor of Matosinhos notes that, if the transfer is really imposed, "it is necessary to revisit everything [the metropolitan project presented five years ago] and reach an agreement among the various municipalities. The road crosses Porto, Matosinhos, Gondomar and Maia, and the latter municipality, to which about two kilometers of road belong, has already accepted the transfer of competencies. "The others have much longer routes and you have to consider that very well, especially Porto and Matosinhos. We divide our border there", added Luísa Salgueiro.
The mayor spoke on the sidelines of the town hall meeting that took place yesterday, September 21, in the parish hall of Santa Cruz do Bispo.
