Matosinhos guarantees, for the second consecutive year, its presence in the 7th Edition of the Associação da Hotelaria, Restauração e Similares de Portugal (AHRESP) Awards, which annually distinguishes the Best of the Year in the Restaurant, Accommodation and Tourism Promotion sectors, in Portugal.
This edition received over 300 applications. In each of the 13 categories in competition, five finalists were selected by the Selection Committee, comprised of 43 members who are specialists and professionals in the restaurant, hotel and gastronomy areas, as well as renowned journalists, critics and gastronomes.
Matosinhos received four nominations, in the following categories:
- Revelation Destination of the Year
Matosinhos
- Innovative Concept
Companhia das Conservas - Bistro & Store (sells canned fish, which is also a mainstay of its dishes)
- Product of the Year
Conservas de Portugal Norte - Porthos Smoked (preserves produced through the traditional process of wood smoking)
- Gastronomic Revelation
Seiva Restaurant, chef David Jesus (located in Leça da Palmeira, its creative base is plants)

The winners of the AHRESP Awards will be announced and distinguished at the final gala on June 2, at Pátio da Galé, in Lisbon.
