B6, in Matosinhos, works only four and a half days a week
The expression of well-being stamped on the faces of the workers is visible, as well as on the director's, says Renascença, which visited the unit.
B6, a software company located in Matosinhos, was one of the first in Portugal to adopt the reduction of the working week. Since then, the employees feel "more motivated and concentrated".
B6 has a working week with five hours less than usual in our country, i.e. a total of 35 hours per week. The difference is that before, workers worked from Monday to Friday between 9am and 6pm, "with a longer lunch hour". Since October 2021, the timetable has been readjusted so that it is more beneficial to all.
The director, Manuel Padilha, explains in statements to Renascença that, in October last year, when the telework regime ended, as a result of the pandemic, it was decided to "reorganize and free the Friday afternoon permanently".
As for salaries, Manuel Padilha explains that nothing was changed.
