Matosinhos the new California? Fuse Valley will be born in a city "valley

A new development is being built in Matosinhos. It's called Fuse Valley and its 140 thousand square metres will house Farfetch's "offices of the future", services and even a hotel

Farfetch will open its new office in Matosinhos at the end of 2025. The luxury fashion sales platform will occupy seven of the 24 buildings in the Fuse Valley project, promoted by the Castro Group.

The company led by José Neves and, which already has 2,000 employees in the North, bought the 70,000 square metre site in the municipality of Matosinhos for €15 million to host what will be its largest technology innovation and operations centre.

Farfetch said it is currently "developing a project that will include office areas, spaces for operations areas, digital production studios and a set of equipment" with the aim of making the future Farfetch Campus "a space with unique characteristics at a national level".

Also by the end of 2025 another seven buildings will be completed, which will be developed by the Castro Group.

The buildings include offices for other companies; a hotel with 75 rooms and 42 flats; 5 thousand square metres of retail space and services such as restaurants, a gymnasium and a spa, as well as an open-air amphitheatre available for art exhibitions, lectures and workshops.

Matosinhos suspended the PDM during the construction of Fuse Valley

The municipality led by Luísa Salgueiro decided to partially suspend, for two years, the Municipal Master Plan to allow the construction of the technological innovation centre "Fuse Valley".

A decision that the Mayor of Matosinhos considers "essential", since otherwise "the realization of an enterprise of relevant importance for the municipality will become unfeasible".

This project will create 12 thousand qualified jobs in the tertiary and information technology sector, reinforcing the municipality's economic development perspectives.
