Matosinhos will have a new real estate project in the former Jomar factory

The project, called JomarNorte XXI, envisages the construction of shops, housing, services, a hotel and an urban park, covering a total of 2.7 hectares, next to the A28 motorway.

Matosinhos will have a major new property project, JomarNorte XXI, on the site of the former Jomar factory, which closed in 2016.

The project involves the construction of shops, housing, services, a hotel and an urban park, covering a total of 2.7 hectares. The development is located on the edge of the A28 motorway, close to Decathlon Matosinhos.

The new development is in the licensing process and includes 10 plots for commerce and services, except for one which will be a 9-storey hotel. Only 10 per cent is intended for housing.

Two of the plots, with two-storey properties, are to be transferred to Matosinhos City Council, while the rest are destined for two department stores, restaurants, a petrol station and two six-storey buildings to house large companies.

The environmental impact of the project is up for public discussion until 29 August and is part of the profound urban renewal that is underway in the Perafita, Lavra and Santa Cruz do Bispo parish union.

Promoted by the Predicaima property investment fund, JomarNorte XXI should be completed four years after construction starts.
