2023 Edition will be dedicated to Nicolau Nasoni
2023 marks the 250th anniversary of the death of Nicolau Nasoni, the architect responsible for eighteenth-century works in Matosinhos, such as the Bom Jesus de Matosinhos Church, Quinta do Chantre, in Leça do Balio, or the portal of Quinta dos Bispos, in Santa Cruz do Bispo.
To mark the date, the Matosinhos City Hall has prepared a special edition of "Moontosinhos" dedicated to Nasoni.
This cycle of nocturnal visits to the History, Heritage and Legends of Matosinhos began in 2013 and was held every month on full moon nights, having been suspended during the pandemic period.
Led by historian Joel Cleto, the visits to various sites and monuments follow a theme and take place a little throughout the county, with the participation of hundreds of people who follow the route, questioning and interacting with the team of historians and archaeologists of the municipality.
Moontosinhos" is, therefore, back this year. Visits to the historical centers of Matosinhos, Leça da Palmeira, Santa Cruz do Bispo, S. Mamede de Infesta and Porto are planned, in a partnership with the Brotherhood/Tower of the Clerics.
The program for 2023 will be presented on March 28th, National Day of Historic Centers, at 21h30, at MuMMa - Museu da Memória de Matosinhos. Admission is free and limited to the capacity of the room.
