Matosinhos City Hall distinguished with the Award - Most Intelligent Facility Management Operation
The Matosinhos City Hall was distinguished with the Award - Most Intelligent Operation of Facility Management (Operational Maintenance), for the year 2022.
The award was delivered during the IFM Summit Lisbon (Intelligence for Maintenance), an event that gathered more than 350 maintenance managers from all over the country at Estufa Fria, in Lisbon, last Tuesday.
This is an initiative of the IFM Community and Infraspeak. The Infraspeak Awards are presented as part of the IFM Tour 2023, a series of events organized by Infraspeak and the IFM Community. The tour events bring together industry leaders, experts and professionals to share knowledge, experiences and best practices.
Matosinhos City Councilor for the Environment, Manuela Álvares, was on site and received the award. "The term collaborate in the maintenance process assumes an even greater and more complicated dimension, in the Public Administration," said the councilwoman. "Today we already have 11 thousand assets inserted and in operation, which represents a daily challenge of articulation between internal teams and external service providers. We are strengthening the BIM (Building Information Modelling) cadastre strategy, to allow an effective integrated operation, and the availability of information to citizens, fulfilling the central objective of improving the quality of municipal assets," she added.
The Infraspeak awards recognize the Facility Management and Maintenance organizations that demonstrate the best results each year. The main award category is focused on the operational efficiency of the organizations, but there are also special awards for "smarter" and "more integrated" operations, for the most innovative businesses. Organizations such as Mota Engil, Casais Group, Siemens, Teleperformance, are some examples of the award winners in maintenance operations.
The Matosinhos City Hall, was the winner of the Special Category - More Intelligent Operation, highlighting the dimension and variability of the operation and maintenance in the Matosinhos Municipality, with the application of digital tools. The municipality also received the award for Most Efficient Operation, considering the results of the operation and application of resources.
This software used by the Matosinhos City Hall in the operational and maintenance management area is already present in 25 countries. In practice, in 2022, it allowed the management of about 32 thousand requests, enabling a more efficient management in several areas, namely, in the control of response times, missing materials, responses to requesters, dispatching teams, among others.
The Matosinhos City Hall has demonstrated its commitment to excellence in the sector and is a great example of the impact that technology and collaboration can have on the success of maintenance operations and management of buildings, facilities and public space.
In this process of continuous improvement and as of this week, the Parish Councils will also integrate the Infraspeak Network, for greater optimization of the maintenance process. In the overall operation, and in the future planning vision, the entire model is being integrated, including the assets under management of MatosinhosHabit and Matosinhos Sport, based on the BIM cadastre, using the international codification CoBie.
