The citizens' energy advisory and support service has already opened in Matosinhos
The Matosinhos Energy Hub, a space for advice and support to citizens in the area of energy efficiency and renewable energy, opened its doors today.
The Mayor of the Matosinhos Municipality, Luísa Salgueiro, today symbolically took the first ticket for this new service that the Municipality of Matosinhos provides in a partnership with AdePorto - Porto Energy Agency.
The Matosinhos Energy Hub project, funded by EU funds, aims to support citizens to improve thermal comfort in their homes and mitigate energy poverty in the territory.
Within the scope of this project, the Municipality of Matosinhos provides a digital and physical one-stop-shop, located in the Municipality building, in the Loja do Munícipe, which aims to support citizens and housing management entities (public and private) of the Municipality of Matosinhos.
From Monday to Friday, between 9am and 5pm, citizens can get support and advice on energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions, applicable legislation, identification of opportunities and support for funding applications.
The project also provides support for the implementation of energy efficiency and renewable energy production measures.
A proximity space, with the objective of providing families with the necessary information to reduce their energy costs.
The opening of this new service was also attended by the Vice Mayor, Carlos Mouta, the councillor for Environment and Energy Transition, Manuela Álvares, the councillor for Culture, Fernando Rocha, the councillor for Education, António Correia Pinto, the councillor for Sports, Vasco Pinho, as well as the CEO of Porto Energy Agency, Rui Pimenta.
The Mayor of the Municipality, Luísa Salgueiro, highlighted the relevance of this new branch for Matosinhos and for the population in general, another step in the decarbonisation challenge that Matosinhos is 'pursuing' towards the reduction of emissions and the decrease of the ecological footprint and in search of carbon neutrality and environmental sustainability of the territory.
