More than 70 spaces opened their doors this weekend
After a year of break and a 6th edition (2021) still conditioned by the Covid-19 pandemic, Open House Porto returned this weekend, opening the doors of more than 70 spaces in the cities of Matosinhos, Porto, Vila Nova de Gaia and Maia.
Curated by the architect Graça Correia and the historian Joel Cleto, the seventh edition had the theme “The House”, revisiting common houses, equipment and infrastructure for collective use, but also other spaces with more restricted access.
Organized and produced exclusively by Casa da Arquitectura – Centro Português de Arquitectura, Open House Porto has the Strategic Partnership of the Municipalities of Maia, Matosinhos, Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia.
In Matosinhos, the spaces open to visits were the new Leça River Corridor, the Lionesa Business Center, the Leça da Palmeira Lighthouse, the Quatro Casas – Casa Fernando Neto, the former Petrogal refinery, the Santa Cruz do Bispo, the Piscina das Marés, the Tea House of Boa Nova, the Passenger Station of Leixões, the Casa da Arquitectura – Real Vinícola, the Vivo Museum Conservas Pinhais, the Cruise Terminal and the Titan de Leixões, the Municipal Swimming Pool of Matosinhos and the Sousa Aroso Residential Building.
The Mayor of Matosinhos, Luísa Salgueiro, visited the recently opened Corredor Verde do Leça, accompanied by the Mayor of Maia, António Silva Tiago, by the curators of the 7th edition of Open House Porto, as well as by the architect Laura Roldão, responsible for the requalification of this extensive area of 6.9 km, between the Moreira and Pedra bridges (including the connection to Picoutos).
The program, in addition to guided visits to indoor and outdoor spaces, included the Kaleidoscope and Plus Programs, which consisted of a set of open activities aimed at all audiences.
