Parties willing to raise adoption age limit to 18

The parties with parliamentary seats agreed, this Thursday, February 23rd, that the maximum age for adoption should be raised from 15 to 18 years old

The PS agreed to debate the change, and the BE, responsible for scheduling the debate, asked for the process to take place "quickly".

The political forces argued that, besides the current limit being "anachronistic", it also contributes to separate siblings - since, currently, children between 16 and 18 years are forced to be institutionalized. The PS, which has an absolute majority in Parliament, was "naturally available" to discuss the projects of BE, PCP, IL, PAN and Free in the specialty.

The PS agrees with the extension of the age limit to 18 years, since institutions and families increasingly request the change.
