Pensioners demonstrated outside parliament for the increase in pensions

A few hundred pensioners gathered yesterday outside parliament to demand a 60 euro increase for all pensions and the creation of a basket of essential goods with fixed prices

The sit-in took place on the day that the petition "For the restoration of the purchasing power of all pensions", signed by the National Confederation of Retired, Pensioners and the Elderly (MURPI), was being discussed in plenary in Parliament.

The President of MURPI, Isabel Gomes said that there is no dialogue with the Government and accused the PS executive of not remembering pensioners.
