The new project of the Tourism of Porto and North of Portugal (TPNP), "Porto e Norte - Solidary Region", which aims to "intervene in different matters of social and environmental area, putting people and quality of life at the top of the priorities", was presented based on the "new axis of action of the region's image in the rest of the country and abroad"
"Turismo do Porto e Norte de Portugal has long been committed to valuing people, whether they are residents or visitors from the national and international market, a commitment that is reinforced with the implementation of this project," says Luís Pedro Martins, president of the TPNP, according to information released by Porto.
"This new project reinforces the importance of the tourism sector as a socially responsible agent, putting people and their quality of life at the top of the priorities, respecting and valuing the communities of the Porto and North region, which should see their natural resources, their heritage and their natural cultural identity preserved and safeguarded, through the adoption of socially responsible behaviors," he adds.
According to the same source, two events are planned along with a national and international communication campaign dedicated to the project, "which will support the image of the region also in terms of landscapes, monuments, heritage, culture and gastronomy.
The entity also has the partnership of the cities of Galicia and Castile and Leon, and the invitation to participate in this project "is extensive to all players in the tourism sector, associations, municipalities and intermunicipal communities.
