Porto Marathon back

The marathon party was back in the streets of Porto and Matosinhos


The marathon party was back in the streets of Porto and Matosinhos, which also included the 10-kilometre run and the 6-kilometre walk, with a total of around 11,000 participants!

The race started with the starting gun of Olympic champion Fernanda Ribeiro and Vasco Pinho, Councillor for Sport of the Matosinhos City Hall, and took place in an atmosphere that mixed the enthusiasm and the effort of these distances.

James Mwangui was the winner of the EDP Marathon of Porto and Alice Kimutai won the women's race.

The podium ceremony was attended by several entities linked to the organisation and the cities on the Atlantic Front, such as Jorge Teixeira and Tiago Teixeira, from Runporto, organiser of the race, Filipe Araújo, vice-president of Porto City Hall, César Navio, director of Agora Porto and Mário Duarte, municipal director of Gaia City Hall. Matosinhos was represented by Henrique Calisto, executive director of Matosinhos Sport, and Vasco Pinho, councillor for sports at the Municipality.
