Porto researchers study new treatments for the "most severe" lung disease
A group of researchers from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP) will start a scientific study aiming to find new therapeutic options for pulmonary arterial hypertension, it was disclosed this Monday.
At stake is a disease described as "the most severe in terms of circulation in the lungs," reads the information from the Faculty.
It is estimated that pulmonary arterial hypertension has an annual incidence of 1.5 to 2.2 cases per million inhabitants in Portugal.
