Portugal beats Turkey on debut in European handball qualification for 2024

The Selecção das Quinas took first place in the group with two points, the same as North Macedonia, who on Wednesday 12 October beat Luxembourg 38-24



The Portuguese handball team entered, this Thursday, in the best way in the qualifying phase for the European Championship 2024, beating Turkey by 44-27, in a group 1 match, played in Matosinhos, Porto.

At the Centro de Desportos e Congressos de Matosinhos, the 'quinas' team, clear favourites, didn't give any chance to the Turkish team, having reached the break winning by 24-12.

With this victory, Portugal took the first place in the group, with two points, the same as North Macedonia, which, on Wednesday, beat Luxembourg by 38-24, with the Portuguese team having advantage in goal difference.
