The Union of Portuguese Nurses (SEP) announced yesterday, May 9th, a strike for Friday, May 12th
This strike will be accompanied by a rally in front of the Ministry of Health to demand better working conditions and the hiring of more professionals.
The strike, which marks International Nurses Day, will take place between 08:00 and 24:00.
The stoppage is due to the worsening of working conditions with the increase in the use of overtime work and the consequent fatigue of nurses, and it is expected that the forms of struggle will intensify, said the president of the SEP, José Carlos Martins.
