Programmed surgeries reach 106 days of waiting in Portugal

The greatest non-compliance was seen in urgent surgeries. In a total of 274 interventions only 67% of operations were performed after the 72 hours indicated



Performing a scheduled surgery required a maximum waiting time of 106 days in the first half of this year. This represented an increase of six days compared to the 100 days registered in the first semester of last year.

Data released by the Health Regulatory Authority indicates that the maximum recommended times vary between 72 hours for emergency surgery and 180 days, when normal priority is defined.
