The winners in the Sub 12, Sub 14 and Sub 16 categories have been determined, as well as the athletes selected for the European final
Suri Rodrigues and Francisco Santos, in Sub 12, Miriam Julião and Jaime Veselko, in Sub 14, and Kekoa Hummel and Maria Salgado, in Sub 16, were the big winners of the second and last stage of the Rip Curl GromSearch, which took place this end- weekend, June 18th and 19th, at Praia de Leça da Palmeira. In this event, the winners of the circuit in Portugal were selected and the athletes who will participate in the European grand final were selected: Suri Rodrigues, Francisco Santos, Miriam Julião, Jaime Veselko, Matias Canhoto and Maria Salgado.
The MEO H-Team Awards were also awarded: Guilherme Lobo won the mobile phone for the Fair-Play Award, voted on by all the participating athletes, and Matias Canhoto and Maria Salgado won both surf trips to the Maldives, a prize offered by MEO to the male and female on the circuit in Portugal, in the Under 16 category. In addition, with the support of the partners, there were gifts for all the finalists (goggles, fins, sunscreens and surfing accessories).
As part of the Porto&Matosinhos Wave Series 2022 poster and organized by the Portuguese Surfing Federation together with Onda Pura Surf Center, with the collaboration of the Porto and Matosinhos municipal councils and the Matosinhos and Leça da Palmeira Parish Council, this event was the second and final stage of this year's Rip Curl GromSearch in Portugal, where the best athletes of the Sub 16, Sub 14 and Sub 12 categories, male and female, were selected for the European final that will take place at the beginning of next year somewhere in Europe .
