Road accidents and deaths increased in January

The PSP recorded an 18% increase in road accidents and a 22% increase in the number of deaths in January, compared to the same month in 2022

Also rose drivers caught with excess alcohol, revealed today that police.

In a statement, the Public Security Police indicates that in January, in its area of responsibility, the urban centers, there were 4,737 serious accidents, which caused nine deaths, 77 seriously injured and 1,304 slightly injured.

Compared to the same month last year, the PSP verified an increase of 18% in accidents, 22% in fatalities and 21% in serious injuries, while the number of light injuries decreased by 15%.
