On the 18th and 19th of June, Sea Life Porto will be celebrating. The largest aquarium in the country celebrates its 13th anniversary with a “big weekend”, full of games, music, dancing, face painting and lots of entertainment
The celebrations will also mark the entry of “new marine species” into Sea Life. “Children will have the opportunity to meet the new clownfish, which are now joining the Porto family, and participate in activities with face painting, choreography and games, and also the famous house mascots: Alex & Sharky”, reveal the promoters. .
According to the released note, the new species were “born in captivity”, a process that the institution uses to “give continuity to a certain species, preserving these same creatures in their natural habitat”. “Reproduction in captivity ensures the best possible environment so that the animals can reach adulthood and reach the maturity necessary to reproduce, thus ensuring the continuity of the species”, said Ana Ferreira, curator of the space.
In addition to the new species, citizens will also have the opportunity to meet the other members of the Sea Life family, including sharks, penguins, turtles and seahorses. The “fun and learning”, reads in the released note.
Remember that there are hundreds of marine and freshwater species that inhabit Sea Life Porto's aquariums and that leave families satisfied.
