Portuguese Marks from the New State to the Turn of the Millennium with a conversation dedicated to the exhibition catalog
Last Saturday, February 25th, Casa do Design started the parallel program of Sapatilhas: Marcas Portuguesas do Estado Novo ao Virar do Milénio with a conversation dedicated to the exhibition catalog. Moderated by Pedro Carvalho de Almeida (exhibition curator) and with Abhishek Chatterjee (ID+), José Bártolo (esad-idea) and Sara Paiva (Museu do Calçado) as guests, the conversation unfolded around the structure of the catalog and the importance of the publication as memory and recognition of the sports footwear industry in Portugal.
Between March and June, the role of the designer as a collector, the connections between design, industry and craftsmanship, and also the challenges and opportunities in sustainable development will be discussed.
