Academia Ponto Verde, Sociedade Ponto Verde's educational project, has already launched many challenges to the school community dedicated to Recycling. This month, it starts a Roadshow, from north to south of the country, for which schools can apply and clear all doubts
Is it necessary to wash packaging before placing it in the recycling bin?", "Can we recycle packaging even with fat residues and traces of food?" or "Do paper cups go into the blue recycling bin?": it is to answer these and other doubts that may still persist that Sociedade Ponto Verde, through its educational project "Academia Ponto Verde", designed a specific "Frequently Asked Questions" for students of the 2nd and 3rd cycles.
The action "Recycling is a good thing" starts, symbolically, in the month of Recycling - with the International Day to be celebrated on 17 May - to continue raising awareness and promoting environmental literacy in a school context, contributing to children and young people to be increasingly informed and participatory in the process of waste management, and to adopt more responsible behaviour and good practices that will accompany them throughout their lives.
In this first phase, it is planned to visit a total of 50 schools, from north to south of the country. Each session will last 45 minutes and a programme that will allow working on concepts linked to Sustainability, the life cycle of packaging, the advantages of recycling, the rules of separation and, in general, approaching good environmental practices. Each school will also be given posters with the separation rules and sets of ecopoints.

This project is a new outreach initiative of Sociedade Ponto Verde to the school community, which is part of its ongoing Environmental Education strategy. The objective is to raise awareness among children, from an early age, about the importance of correctly separating packaging waste and actively participating in the recycling process, helping to preserve the environment.
"The youngest have a crucial role in the future of the Planet and their intervention can and should start as soon as possible. By taking Recycling to schools we seek to give new tools to students, but also to teachers, so that they are properly informed about the best environmental practices, namely those related to packaging recycling, and can apply them in their daily lives. Academia Ponto Verde has this component since its inception, to create positive impacts today, but that last throughout life," says Ana Trigo Morais, CEO of Sociedade Ponto Verde.
