Two million criminal reports recorded by PSP in 10 years

The police have registered more than two million reports of crimes in the last 10 years, the police indicated this Wednesday, calling for the importance of presenting complaints to the authorities to prevent new crimes from occurring


On the European Day for Victims of Crime, which is being celebrated today, February 22nd, the Public Security Police said that in the last 10 years, in its area of responsibility (urban regions) it has recorded a total of 2,109,590 criminal reports, an annual average of 175,799 complaints.

The PSP says that this date, which has been celebrated since 1990, aims to raise awareness of "the need to protect and safeguard the rights of crime victims and make known the reporting and denunciation mechanisms available" if they are victims of crime, have witnessed it or have knowledge of any information.
